The Orgasm “O” Shot, is a non-surgical treatment which pledges to increase sexual arousal and rejuvenate the vagina.
Check out this great testimonial from Marcia about the O-Shot.
The O-shot works by using “high quality” Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) produced from a woman's own blood. The PRP contains cell regenerating growth factors which, when injected into specific areas of the vagina, trigger stem cells to increase blood flow and generate healthy tissue growth as well as help improve the vascularization of the area.
The O-Shot procedure begins with a simple blood draw from the arm. This sample is then put into a special centrifuge to produce the Platelet-Rich Plasma. Once the PRP is extracted from the blood, it is injected into the numbed area near the clitoris and upper vagina.
The O-Shot is not a drug. It’s an office based medical procedure in which a woman's own platelets are injected into her vaginal tissue. The inventor, Dr. Charles Runels, created the procedure to use the growth factors in platelets to naturally attract a woman's own stem cells to the injected area and “generate healthier and more functional tissue in the areas of sexual response in the vagina (G-Spot, O-Spot, Skene’s Glands, urethra, and vaginal wall).”
The Result?
Patients have reported a range of positive effects from the O-Shot including:
The results can vary depending on the woman’s symptoms. For example, factors such as age, medical conditions, and hormonal problems can impact the results. 50 percent of women may experience instantaneous “wow effects” while the other half may notice a marked improvement.
The O-Shot Difference?
Patients can just have one O-Shot or come back for additional treatments, which will build on the existing results. Generally, women will begin to experience heightened sensation in the first 3-7 days and new tissue will begin to develop over the next 3-9 weeks. This will peak around 3-months, at which time full results are usually enjoyed. 8 weeks is generally recommended between treatments to ensure the full effects of the first treatment have been felt.
What this means for you:
There is no recovery time with this non-surgical procedure. It is quick and generally takes about 30 minutes to complete, including the numbing process. O-Shot procedure results can vary depending on the woman and generally last between 14 and 18 months. On average, women repeat the procedure every 18 months.
One of the many advantages of therapy with the O-Shot is its effectiveness in addressing a wide range of concerns. The O-Shot is for any of the 50% of women that complain of loss of vaginal sensation or the 75% of women that experience low sexual desire. Most commonly, this procedure works for women who have noticed changes in the ability to orgasm or sexual satisfaction. Women who have experienced vaginal childbirth, have undergone chemotherapy, are post-menopausal, or who have had a hysterectomy are often excellent candidates for this procedure. However, O-Shot can treat many other vaginal issues as well, so we encourage you to reach out to us to see if this procedure or another option can help alleviate your concerns.
The first step is to meet with Dr. Ojo-Carons in a consultation. She will listen to you, hear all of your concerns, and then work closely with you to come up with the best solution for your needs. She will let you be in control of the entire process and offer her expert advice along the way.
Following your initial consultation, you will be scheduled for your O-Shot procedure. Please allow about 30 to 45 minutes for your treatment. This includes time for pre-treatment paperwork; application of the numbing cream to the vaginal area (a topical anesthetic is used to ensure comfort- most patients only experience a slight pressure sensation); your blood draw & centrifuge; the procedure, which takes just a few minutes; and discharge instructions.
After the procedure has concluded, you should be able to return to your regular activities immediately. There is no downtime and recovery is very minimal with the O-Shot, making it ideal for patients with active lifestyles and busy schedules. Most patients experience minimal to no side effects after receiving the orgasm shot. However, you may experience mild redness, swelling and/or numbness for the first few days to one week. Patients can usually resume their daily routine with minimal discomfort, spotting, or discharge. However, depending on your customized treatment, we may recommend a specific post-treatment plan, including avoiding tampon use or sexual intercourse for a longer duration. Dr. Ojo-Carons recommends you prepare for one day of low level cramping or spotting afterward.
